Returning in 2015 with Adult teams, the National Softball Association is implementing a Player Number system. This system will allow players to register themselves to play on teams associated with the National Softball Association. The player's account, once created, will follow them from team to team, season to season, and allow everyone to keep better track of player history, player information, and give players the power to indicate what team or teams they are playing on recreationally and competitively.

If you have a player number already, please log in by following this link.

If you have not yet registered, click here to sign up as a National Softball Association new player.

2015 NSA CLASSIFICATION PROCEDURES

The NSA is strongly committed to providing a competitive balance of teams and players in every classification across the United States. The same classification standards are used by all four zones and reviewed by the NSA National Classification Committee (NCC) made up of 12 members, 3 from each zone. NSA has established a NATIONAL CLASSIFICATION COMMITTEE to oversee the national classification policy and to approve/deny classification requests.

It is required that all teams first attempt to EMAIL their appeal form and/or preliminary roster to the State Director at illinoisnsa@comcast.net. Additional methods of delivery are accepted if teams are unable to send these items via email. Please contact the State Director if form(s) must be sent using an alternate method. The Illinois NSA office number is (815) 932-4536.

All teams that as per bylaw are a mandatory move up with or without appeal, if they wish to appeal, must submit the official 2015 NSA NCC APPEAL FORM for TEAM to DOWNGRADE in Classification by email to the State Director. The State Director will review and send the form to the NSA National Classification Committee for a decision. Deadline for the NCC appeal form to be received by email to the State Director is April 26, 2015.

All teams who have been assigned a classification by the State Director, if they wish to appeal, must appeal directly to the State Director by completing and emailing the 2015 Illinois NSA APPEAL FORM for TEAM to DOWNGRADE in Classification and the 2015 Illinois NSA Preliminary Roster. These forms must be fully completed detailing the players for the 2015 NSA season along with the reasons and documentation for their appeal. The State Director will review the request and make a decision.

Any appeal of a State Directorís assignment of classification must be made in writing by submitting an email to the State Director. The State Director will then forward the teamís 2015 Illinois NSA APPEAL FORM for TEAM to DOWNGRADE in Classification and the 2015 Illinois NSA Preliminary Roster directly to the NSA Northern Zone Vice President. The NSA Northern Zone Vice President will review the request and make a decision.

All new or re-formed teams must complete and email to the State Director a 2015 Illinois NSA Preliminary Roster requesting a classification which is eligible by NSA Classification Bylaws. The team must detail the players for the 2015 season along with the reasons and documentation for their classification request. The State Director will review the request and make a decision.

The NSA APPEAL PROCESS is detailed in the COMPLETE ONLINE NSA RULEBOOK (Page 163) under BYLAWS - ARTICLE XXI - APPEAL PROCESS PROCEDURES - SECTION 1 - Outline of the National Softball Associationís Appeal Procedures.

The complete list of Illinois NSA Team Classifications has been updated on our website at:
